For my final project I decided to make a poster. Initially I had four different ideas That I wanted to work on, but after creating the first two I realized they were more time consuming than I though so I could not finish all four. I began with my "Matrix" inspired "got milk" "ad". I got the idea from those milk ads, I find them funny and interesting and I'm always stopping to see who it is, plus it let me incorporate one of my favorite movies It's not very clear in this smaller rendition, but the background and the lady are all made up of numbers and letters, for the Matrix-effect. I also wanted to use some of the techniques that we used this semester for it and as I was making this one I couldn't help but start working on the second poster, this might explain why my video jumps around. The second one is inspired from artwork done in the 60's, which I have always found appealing.
I chose to work with the still medium because, even though I find video to be a very strong way to communicate an idea, I personally like the power that a still image commands. Plus it lets you work on more detail on a single frame since this single image is all you have to capture your audience and get your point across. It's a challenge to not only capture an unaware bystander, but then to draw them in closer so they can see the rest of your message.
